NFL Scores & Lines Dataset
A flat, queryable dataset combining NFL game results with the betting markets around them: every game from 1999 through 2024. Built on top of the nflverse packages, with the goal of giving anyone doing sports-analytics work a clean starting point so they don't have to scrape, reconcile, or hand-roll the join themselves.
What's in it
Two CSVs:
betting_data99-25.csv:game_id,season,week,game_type, home / away teams and scores,spread_line,total_line, over/under odds, moneylines, and spread odds for both sidesnfl_teams.csv: team metadata: abbreviation, name, division, conference, team colors, and logo URLs (ESPN, Wikipedia, league)
Use cases
Backtesting a betting strategy. Training a score-prediction model against a market baseline. Building visualizations that compare actual outcomes to where the line opened. Joining clean team metadata onto your own analysis without hand-typing division and conference lookups.
